ShipStation® Integrates AI Into the Shipping Workflow with Intelligent Automation and Conversational Analytics

AI-powered features trained on the company’s shipping volume now pre-fills 1.4 million labels a week, and new AI agents let merchants ask questions of their shipping data in natural language

AUSTIN, Texas — October 28, 2026 — ShipStation, the leading AI-powered shipping and logistics platform for small and mid-sized shippers, today announced the next evolution of its platform, introducing an expanded suite of generative and predictive artificial intelligence (AI) features. The latest updates further enable ShipStation to equip shippers with enterprise-level logistics intelligence that simplifies warehouse operations, protects bottom-line margins, and strengthens carrier relationships.

From rules to native AI capabilities

The expansion marks the next chapter in ShipStation’s innovation roadmap, building on the workflow automations and analytics previously introduced through ShipStation Intelligence™. Enabled by AI-powered models, ShipStation now anticipates shipper needs in real time, eliminates tedious manual inputs and turns post-purchase logistics into an engine for business growth.

“When we first introduced ShipStation Intelligence, our mission was to automate the manual rules of shipping,” said Travis Rimel, Chief Product Officer at ShipStation Global. “With these expanded features, we are taking the next step forward by establishing ShipStation as the AI-powered shipping and logistics platform for small and mid-sized businesses. Through these native AI capabilities, we are integrating an autonomous logistics department inside our customers’ dashboards to help them protect their margins and scale with confidence.”

Next-generation AI features delivering immediate value

ShipStation’s new intelligent layer addresses pressing operational and margin challenges confronting growing businesses:

AI-powered features that learn shipping habits

The AI-powered auto-fill feature in ShipStation learns how each merchant configures shipments — package type, weight, service level, and more — and automatically applies the merchant-specific settings to future orders. Since launch:

  • ShipStation pre-fills 1.4 million labels every week.
  • Average label creation time has dropped 35%, from about 100 seconds to about 65.
  • Merchants trust the recommendations: up to 97% of suggested values are left unchanged.
  • 69% of active ShipStation sellers have turned the feature on.

For a seller shipping hundreds of orders a day, those seconds add up to hours saved each week and fewer costly mistakes.

Conversational analytics: data analysis for everyone

Most small businesses don’t have a data team, and ShipStation’s conversational analytics gives them the next best thing. Merchants simply ask a question and get an answer drawn from their own ShipStation data — no spreadsheets analytics expertise required. Three specialized AI agents are available:

  • Shipping & Cost Optimizer: analyzes performance, costs by zone, service, and carrier, delivery speed, return label costs, and opportunities to save.
  • Business Overview: answers questions about orders, shipments, delivery tracking, top products, and returns.
  • Warehouse & Inventory Manager: reports on picker performance, order processing times, batch efficiency, stock levels, low-stock alerts, and reorder status.
